Figure 9.19: Above is a mapping of the location of 2109 gamma ray bursts (GRBs) over the entire sky. In red are the most powerful known GRBs. GRBs are intense sources of gamma rays that last only a fraction of a second. What distribution do they have. What does it say about whether they originate from our galaxy or not?
